Reviews are only useful if they are real. These rules apply to every review on SupplyRank — and to how we moderate them. The short version: first-hand experience only, facts over adjectives, and negative reviews are never removed just because a supplier asks.
Who may leave a review
- You (or your company) actually contacted, ordered from, or held an account with the supplier.
- One review per company per supplier. Update your review if the situation changes rather than posting a new one.
- Employees, owners and affiliates of a supplier may not review their own company or competitors. Disclosed supplier responses are welcome instead.
What makes a review useful
- Specifics: what you ordered, approximate volume, the terms you were quoted, what went right or wrong.
- Verifiable claims. We may ask you to show an invoice, email thread or order confirmation privately — we never publish these documents.
- Dates. “Slow shipping in 2023” and “slow shipping last week” mean different things.
What we remove
- Reviews with no first-hand experience (heard-from-a-friend, revenge posts, competitor smears).
- Personal data of individuals: names of rank-and-file employees, personal phone numbers, home addresses.
- Threats, slurs, spam, promotional links, and review-for-review trades.
- Reviews we can demonstrate to be fabricated — in both directions, positive and negative.
What we never do
We never remove a negative review because the supplier requests it, offers payment, or threatens legal action. If a supplier disputes a review, we ask the reviewer for evidence; the review stays up while the dispute is examined, marked as disputed if needed. The full process is described in our review moderation policy.
For suppliers
If a review about your company contains a factual error, claim your profile and respond publicly, or write to [email protected] with documentation — see For suppliers. Corrections of facts are free; deletion of honest criticism is not available at any price.
